Hey guys,
I'm planning to celebrate my 20th birthday with a big party. My birthday is on Oct. 3rd, I wanted to create some sort of mixtapes for the party, so that I'm not required to take care of the music all the time. Long story short:
I'd like to create musictapes, as in mixing music.
In the past I used winamp plugin that sort of auto-transition from one song to the other, by fading one song out and fading the other in. Seeing as I have tons of time until the party is and because I developed interest in learning to actually mix songs, I was searching for an appropriate tutorial, site or what have you.
What I mean by mixing music is more than the transition I described above, it's kind of hard to describe. Instead of fading one song out and fading in the other, you only fade out the melody and the vocals and add the vocals and melody of the new song with the beat of the old one. This is kiiind of what I mean.
So yea, here's the question:
Anyone of you know how to mix songs and could give me a basic idea / help me with it / show me a site to learn it?
Or if no one does, help me searching, I already tried google, but maybe I'm searching for the wrong words. I heard fruityloop is a good program for that stuff and I already found tutorials to actually create beats with the program, but what I want is mixing existing music. No idea how to kind of cut out elements of a song, say the beat or only the vocals and apply it to another beat etc.
Thanks for your help in advance.
