I got myself a nice soundcard, installing onto motherboard going fine and all, but after connecting the power cord cable from the soundcard onto the powersupply it wouldn't start up my pc....very strange, removing the cable and it was fine, got rid of 4 fans (i thought maybe it was to much or anything). But it shouldn't be too much since I have a 850watts powersupply.....
==============================================
Soooo summary here:
now I have 3 fans left 5 hdds (2ssd, 3hdd) soundcard (asus xonar phoebus solo) graphicscard (gtx680classified) 4 modules of RAM 4 usb devices
(don't think I left anything out)
==============================================
So I should have enough left tho....

Sounds like the sound card is just faulty, shorting out and thus preventing the system from starting up.

soundcard does light up, so it make some sort of connection only the power cable connecting...I dunno just annoying
Edit: will be returning it now anyway, done with it, all day tweaking/trying to fix it, blegh....

How much research did you put in to buying a soundcard, btw? I've heard the Phoebus cards have had a lot of issues with compatibility.

Went back, they are sending it to test it, motherboard shouldn't be the problem, mostly the vql is used for memorybanks, also the pci slots are supporting the soundcard 2.0ish thingy
