lol nice
Okay a few screenshots in the bottom ^^
i have alot of things to say about this game so its along read =p
I started playing WoW half a year ago(i convinced 2 of my friends to play it too), i've stopped for the moment.. Thinking i'll start playing again after a few patches or an expansion pack.
The game is great, the world is fantastic. Everywhere you go the area looks very fantasy like. There is no loading when you go to another zone on the same continent (there are two continents) and the whole mood changes from zone to zone which is nice!
There are not many classes (9 i think), but unlike other games they have put alot of work and content to the ones there are. And each class has 3 skill tree's which you can put points in like in Diablo 2, so in a way each class has about 3 sub classes in it (You can be a priest that specialises in damage or healing or whatever the third tree was
). The bad thing with this is that in most classes, there is allways one build that is considered overpowered to the rest. So most players use the same build because doing otherwise would give you too many disadvantages.
The thing i really love about this game is quests. You dont kill monsters over and over untill you level, you get a quest (quests are all over the place). In a quest you're supposed to do something, like find a woman and bring her back to her cabin safely. Now you'd get xp for finding her, the thugs and animals you kill on the way, a xp reward when you've brought her back and usually a item reward.. Like a brand new magic cloak or something ^^. So you allways do quests! And its much more fun then just killing things because it gives you something to do with a purpose (And the rewards are great!).
They didn't really bring PvP(Player versus player) in to the picture untill about 3-4 months after release. I'll be frank, i don't like the PvP in this game much. Weither you are skilled or not means much less then what equipment you have and the tactics you use. You put the world's best WoW pvp'er against two newbies who know how to play their class, all same lvl's and same equipment, then the two newbies will win no contest.
And to make matters worse, this game has abit of weird server to client rutine. I tested this with a friend, we wore on a lan both with below 100 in ping. He moved to the side, and 4 seconds later he moved on my screen. But that's not the worst part, if i'm running after someone, and im right behind him i cant hit him. Because on his computer im still 4 seconds behind him. I have to be 4 seconds ahead of him to hit him, so i actually have to run through him, and a few feet infront of him to be able to hit him. And you can imagine how frustrating this is when the other player is constantly changing directions, you have to predict where he's going, and get there first.
And another thing that will make you hate PvP & People is the fact that there is PvP rewards, that ironicly calls itself the "honor system". If you kill enough players, you go up in rank and get rewards. This has made players kill enemies on sight, no matter what. If their lvl 49 and you just hit level 40 and they come across you while you fighting a beast with less then half of you health remaining, they will kill you without a thought.. And they'll be rewarded for it. This will start happening alot after you go beyond level 40.PvP is more frustrating then it is fun. Also it works like rock, paper & scissors. Like, mages will almost allways beat warriors, rogues beat mages, druids beat rogues, paladins beat druids and so on.
But enough of that ^^
I thought the best part of this was the journey from lvl 1 to 40, because that just comes naturally and you have a great time doing that. After that it becomes more work & stress! To be able to go to the best dungeons you need a good 5 man team, willing to spend the next 3-5 hours trying to go through it. If one of those arent doing their job right or good, you'll ahve a very hard time, if one of them decides to quit the group for whatever reason, the whole team might aswell quit too, because finding someone to replace him takes time and finding someone suitable to replace him takes even longer. So if you dont, you just wasted 3-5 hours of your time gaining little if nothing and this happens alot.[/i]
I'm glad i played it, but i'm glad i stopped when i did.
I'm saying alot of bad things here, but to get to the point.
Good things!*
It's a great game (Work of art)
*You have lots of fun mostly
*You meet alot of people and make alot of friends
*Nothing is more fun then being in a good group in a dungeon ^^
*Lots of stuff to buy or sell
*Leveling is VERY easy, and i mean VERY
(People who played for awhile get from lvl 1-20 in a day)
*Mounts, horses, skeleton horses, weird looking horses, other mountable animals
*PvP + PvP Games (Capture the flag & Control points currently)
*PvP rewards!
*Simple and fun crafting system ^^
*Fun combat
The bad things!-Game ends at level 60 (Dont EVER hit level 60, if you're level 59 make a new character and start over
)
-PvP
-Lack of player skill having any thing to say
-Unable to communicate to enemies in any way but gestures
-No flying mounts
-No hero classes, yet..
-Limited character generator
-Equipment that is good usually looks silly
-No player controlled ships, yet..
I talk too much, now you know not to ask me again
