Hi guys, just wondering summat, recently ive heard many players on MB2 servers saying they dont really like SW, and just like the game like they would CS or BF's etc, this is an alien concept to the Von, ive been an obsessive Star Wars fan since i was 3-4 (about 25years) im also one of the very few who really loves ALL the movies, yes, even ep'1, man, can you imagine a jar-jar skin on MB2, spammed to the max hence why my fav' map is deathstar on FA, the atmos is best there for SW fan IMO. also, for those true SW fans out there, go to wikipedia.com and search for anything in SW, like mandolorian, it has some really cool info, that makes some skins in MB2 even better, like colours of mando represent ranks etc now, i know ive rattled on for a while here, but i must mention one more thing, someone may know more than me, WHY, oh FFS WHYYYYY did george lucas remove IG88 from ep5 when he re-digitized it, i cannot understand this, he was a bounty hunter in the background when vader is chatting to them all in the origonal release, now hes gone, you only see him for a second in CC dead when chewy collest 3PO's bits. even if you aint a big SW fan, do yourself a favour, and go to wikipedia.com and search for IG88, read how cool this BH is, how much havok they created, and ask why oh why isnt he in MB2 (p.s. if you like the BH's DL-20a rifle, that is IG's gun in ep5) THIS IS THE WILL OF DOOM

I like SW, but not to an extend that I'd go out and buy SW plastic lightsabers, action figures, etc... I haven't even read any of the EU books I just like ALL sci-fi in general, I just like playing JKJA/MBII because of the unique gameplay (I mean, no other game has a sabersystem quite like this) and general fun-ness

Same as Gab, I like anything that's even remotely related to Sci-Fi. I love all the Star Wars movies, but I'm not a fanatic as some would say. I always watch all the Sci-Fi shows on TV. Farscape, Smallville, Final Conflict:Earth.... etc. etc. etc. I think Jar Jar is a hilarious character, I'd laugh my ass off if there really was a Jar Jar model saying "Ouch time" every time he died

I used to like SW, so much, i'd build the ships out of lego, WITHOUT THE LEGO PACK THINGYS, i'd buy all the films n' stuff too, but now it's just boring. Some of the games are OK, but most are mediocre at best, as for the films, bleh.

My best starwars moment: I saw the VERY FIRST starwars console game ina GameStation today. £9.99.
It also had Paper Mario for N64 for £59.99 THAT'S £20 MORE THAN I PAID FOR IT 4 YEARS AGO.

I dislike the movies, but love the character, designs and world.
It was the only respectable sci-fi around before the prequels made it as silly and embarassing as star-trek(which tbh, I also kinda like).
Jedi, Boba, Jango, Clones, Dooku, Maul, Vader, Han solo. All of these things are brilliant iconic characters, and I love playing as them or being in the situations they were...
Its just the movies are so badly made its hard to enjoy them. I originally only hated the prequels but now I can't watch the others back because vader and boba(the best characters) have been ruined...and there is a million inconsistencies.
I was looking after a nephew of mine the other week, and I got to thinking about watching star wars with him. I remember lucas saying he wanted the prequels and OT to be watched in order....but really if you did that...all the best moments from the OT are gone. There is no surprise that vader is lukes father, everyone knows exactly who and what yoda is, there is no surprise about leia being lukes sister...in fact its a bit sick because we know luke is having incestous thoughts about his own sister.....hell of a lesson for a kid.
I eventually decided my nephew is going to watch the OT, and I wont tell him the prequels exist(except episode 1, which is detached enough from the OT to not ruin it).

So many old threads to reply to.... I grew up with SW, I had all kinds of ships and figures (the originals, not the revised muscle-packed ones which have absolutely no resemblance to the movie characters), and just like with my Transformers army, I used to emulate huge battles with them. Most ppl in my age like SW. Then, there is the generation of 20-year-olds who all hate it (why, i wonder..), except my little sister. she of course blames me for being the only one she knows who likes SW, where all her friends hate it (I have taught here well). Some ignorant parent of mine got rid of all my SW collectibles and so I stopped ever buying these things. I miss my Greedo figure I had the N64 "Shadows of the Empire", where IG88 really kicked my a$$ so badly I hate him now. VonDoom is right....there should be a skin in MB2.

I've always liked Star Wars, even tho I kinda got astray and was a fanboy of episodes 1-2. I eventually lost interest in them as I grew mature enough to think a good movie isn't about : WROOM SKRZZZZT BOOM! WHAT ARE MESA SAYING LOLZ! BOOM SKKKRRRRRTTTCHHHHHH!!!
Episode 4 is definately the best of the lot, has a lot of Star Wars moments that are pure gold. Just like all of the original trilogy. Sometimes I close my eyes and think the prequels aren't there. If it weren't for the prequels. I'd not see Darth Vader as a crybaby, or Obiwan as an alcoholic.
