Yes it can. But after it will suck, you will need to buy a new PS, not just a part of it. But at PC, you'll probably just have to buy 1 or 2 parts of PC and it'll get much better.. At last that's my opinion

In 1-4 years, the console will cost around 250 euros, people WILL buy that in stead of a state of the art computer at around 2000 euros

Nope problem is Cell processor does almost all the work, in a pc you have a soundcard doing the sound ps3 doesn't have a soundcard because the cell does the work. So if you start comparing it to a pc then PC wins it. Also cell can't go faster then its weakest link and thats the powerpc core managing the other cores

surely hope some proper benchmarks appear since i never seen any vs another brand like amd or intel.

PS3 titles arent even using the powerpc core for anything other than queue management.

The thing is that PS3 is designed so that it doesn't have bottlenecks, so you could stop making them up. PS3 is far faster than PC because it's only designed for gaming. It's faster in games than a PC will be anytime soon.

HD doesn't mather. RAM isn't important as it's not a computer, it's a game console. Saying that PS3's GPU isn't enough is amusing. GPUs were originally made to take counting graphics off from the CPU's missions so that they would run programs faster. I'm sure those eight prosessors of PS3 aren't meant for counting programs. I think what GPU does in PS3 is probably just counting AF and AA.

cell core was NEVER designed for gaming it just happened to be chosen by microsoft and sony for their consoles, and if you starts comparing the consoles to a pc you'll find out that they are more like a computer these days then a console

also powerpc did get kicked out of the mac for a reason

head on vs a quad core i don't see it winning. then again never seen a proper benchmark so suppose i'm right otherwise there would be benchmarks confirming i'm not.

problem = linux reconizes only 1 core , and the low ram memory can't even make linux work properly

That problem is lies within Linux, not PS3... PS3 games are designed for PS3, unlike some Linux distro.

Alot of games come out for consoles which dont come out for PC and are crazily enjoyable.
